Callie's Story

Updated: Jan 13, 2022

Callie is a single mom with four children, ages 8 to 17. Over the past few years, Callie lost her housing, experienced homelessness, then lived in a car with her husband and kids for awhile before landing in a motel.

Soon thereafter, she and her husband separated, and the kids stayed with her. She worked as a food delivery driver, but had a tough time finding housing. Eventually, she was able to find housing, and has been in the same place since June of 2020. Looking to better herself, she was recently hired on at UPS. Unfortunately, she was already three months in arrears in her rent, and was threatened with eviction. That's when she reached out to SVdP for help. Below are her own words in response to the assistance she received.

"I am so beyond appreciative and overwhelmed by what you guys have done for me. I can't thank you enough. This was an answered prayer. I have had so much anxiety and stress. It's made my day-to-day living almost unbearable, and today I woke up feeling like I can breathe. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for what you have done for my family."
