Nondiscrimination Statement

In accordance with our Catholic foundation and mission, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul of Portland (SVdP) affirms the God-given dignity of every person. We are committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all of our clients, volunteers, visitors and staff.

As an institution participating in a U.S. Department of Agriculture food program, SVdP is prohibited from discrimination in the provision of services based on race, color, national origin, sex (including gender identity and sexual orientation), disability, age, or reprisal/retaliation for prior civil rights activity in any program or activity funded by the USDA. We also follow all state and local laws in the conduct of our activities and services, and do not discriminate on the basis of religion, political belief or affiliation, sexual orientation, marital or family status, veteran status, gender identity or expression, or any other classification protected by law. Also read our Safeguarding Policy.

Persons with disabilities who require alternative means of communication for program information (e.g. Braille, large print, audiotape, American Sign Language, etc.) should contact the Agency (state or local) where they applied for benefits. Individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing, or have speech disabilities may contact USDA through the Federal Relay Service at 800-877-8339. Program information may also be available in languages other than English.
