St. Vincent de Paul's annual Jim Altenhofen Classic tees off Friday, Aug. 15, at Glendoveer Golf Course in Portland. This means raising much needed funds for people facing hardship. It also means that our southeast Cornwell Street main office will be closed that day as staff and volunteers pitch in to help raise money.

It may be too late for new contestants to sign up for the tournament, but it's never too late to make a donation, or shop our St. Vincent de Paul thrift store. The thrift store will remain open regular hours at 17108 SE Powell Blvd.

The food hotline will be closed all day. Emergency assistance hotlines will reopen with regular hours Monday, Aug. 18.

The golf tournament is our biggest fundraiser of the year, with proceeds used to help households in northwest Oregon to avoid eviction, or catch up on utility bills.
