Welcome & thank you for visiting our web site! The first St. Vincent de Paul Conference on the Pacific Coast was established in Portland Oregon on October 9, 1869. Our first major contribution to the Portland community was sponsoring one of the finest hospitals on the west coast, St. Vincent’s Hospital, in Portland in 1874.
Today our grass roots effort continues in serving homeless and economically disadvantaged populations in our community. We coordinate the efforts of over 50 parish conferences as well as manage special works programs including coordinating emergency services, operating a prepared and perishable food recovery program, maintaining a food bank, providing emergency rent and utility assistance, and maintaining a support structure for information, referral, and linkage in assistance to the conference volunteers.
Through the years our mission has remained the same: provide compassion and support to individuals in need, regardless of race, origin, religion or gender. Thank you for supporting our efforts to help people in need through your prayers, volunteering and monetary donations.
