The Society of St. Vincent de Paul of Portland, Oregon (SVdP Portland) values the privacy and security of all with whom we work. We take care to safeguard and protect the personal and financial information of our donors, volunteers, partners, staff, clients, and website visitors (collectively, “Users”). We maintain strict information security policies and procedures to prevent Users’ information from being accessed by unauthorized persons.


SVdP Portland reserves the right to revise this policy at any time. Such revisions will be posted on this site.


Personal Information Policies
SVdP Portland does not sell, exchange or rent the names or other personal information of any of its website Users including, but not limited to, supporters, donors, clients, newsletter subscribers, or staff. SVdP Portland may use your personally identifiable information to:

  

  • Respond to your questions or comments;

  • Fulfill and/or schedule requests to volunteer;

  • Screen applicants, and provide services to clients;

  • Process your donation, and send you a receipt;

  • Send you information about SVdP Portland programs or services that we believe will interest you;

  • Protect the security or integrity of our website;

  • Protect against a threat of safety or destruction of property;

  • Protect against legal liability.

  

SVdP Portland may offer public recognition of donors, unless anonymity is requested and agreed to in advance.

Anonymous Data Policies
When you visit our website, we collect some basic, non-identifying information from server logs. This includes the number of visitors, pages viewed, type of browser, type of operating system, internet service provider information, IP address, and frequently used search terms. We use this information internally to analyze site usage, and to improve site content and design.


SVdP Portland may disclose anonymous, aggregate data in external communications (e.g., number of donors, average gift size, number of volunteers, etc.). We may also work with a third-party vendor to aggregate data, and to provide data processing and management services needed to fulfill our mission to serve Users.


Vendor, Contractor and Agent Policies

SVdP Portland requires vendors, contractors and agents who have access to personal information to protect that information consistent with this Privacy Policy. Financial transactions processed on the internet with SVdP Portland, including credit and debit card transactions, are conducted over a secure connection, and in accordance with Payment Card Industry (PCI) standards. SVdP Portland’s website and donor pages are hosted by third parties, which also comply with PCI standards for financial processing.

Limitations
The security measures we take may not prevent all loss, misuse, alteration, or theft of information accessed or provided through the SVdP Portland website. SVdP Portland is not responsible for damages or liabilities relating to a security failure. Be aware that unauthorized third parties may access data and communications that are sent via the internet. See our Terms of Use page for other conditions and limitations affecting Users’ privacy and security. SVdP Portland reserves the right to revise and update its Privacy Policy at any time. SVdP  Portland will post and highlight any changes on this site.
