Some aid available though office still closed

The main office of the Portland Council of St. Vincent de Paul is closed again Tuesday, January 16. Roads are still too treacherous to travel in many areas due to freezing temperatures and ice.

Despite the closure, some staff will be working remotely in an attempt to restore heat for utility customers who are without service due to payment issues. Hotlines for rent/utility assistance, and for food will continue to be closed, but callers whose electricity or natural gas is off will be able to leave a voicemail to receive a later call back.
