Another closure hits council office Friday

After first scheduling a 2-hour delayed opening, our Portland Council office has closed again. While many streets and highways of the metro area have become passable as of Jan. 19, the SVdP parking lot—and the street leading to it—are still iced over, and unsafe for visitors, volunteers, and staff.

The council food line will remain closed, and the Friday afternoon pantry at the southeast Cornwell Street location also will be closed. Emergency Services office staff will work remotely to handle as many urgent rent and utility requests as possible. Applicants will only be able to reach the office by voicemail.
