Food Bank VolunteersWhen you join forces with over 1,500 St. Vincent de Paul volunteers you are no longer just a drop in the ocean but become a wave.

The Food Bank is part of a citywide network system for collecting over-produced food from grocers, universities, hospitals, restaurants, and major caterers. We also have a canned and dry food salvage program along with food drives.

The Food Bank collected and distributed over 1 million pounds of food in 2005. The food is available to 79 different qualifying agencies in the Portland Metropolitan Area plus five counties.

Help is needed in sorting, stocking, inventory, agency relations, donor relations, computer & customer service. The Food Bank is the place for you if you are interested in working with a great team of Volunteers and Staff. Everyday brings something new and training is ongoing.

The Portland Council center is located 5120 SE Milwaukie Ave., Portland, Oregon (Map). Our Emergency Service Office, Food Bank, and Food Recovery Program are located on this site. We also have off site opportunities for people wishing to volunteer but may have work, family or timing barriers.

Interested in helping in one of these areas? We are open from 8AM – 3:30PM, Monday thru Friday, shifts and days are flexible. Please call Jacque at 503-234-1114
