When you join forces with over 1,500 St. Vincent de Paul volunteers you are no longer just a drop in the ocean but become a wave.
The St. Louise Conference provides client assistance directly through the emergency service office. Volunteers join together daily to assist clients on the phones, assist walk-in clients, and prepare food boxes. Hours are 9AM – 12PM and 1PM – 4PM, Monday thru Friday.
Volunteers who speak a second language are always in great need. If you have not volunteered doing any of these jobs before, don't say 'no' just yet, because we offer a self-paced training program. Assisting the poor first hand is one of the most rewarding missions anyone can undertake.
The Portland Council center is located 5120 SE Milwaukie Ave., Portland, Oregon (Map). Our Emergency Service Office, Food Bank, and Food Recovery Program are located on this site. We also have off site opportunities for people wishing to volunteer but may have work, family or timing barriers.
