Give fresh produce and eggs to SVDP Food Bank
Are You a Backyard Farmer? or do you know one? We have the solution for you.
Many children & adults go without fresh fruits, vegetables and eggs because they buy what they can find on sale. You can HELP. If you have a garden, plant an extra row for a family or bring your over-produced fresh crop to the St Vincent de Paul Food Bank. 5120 SE Milwaukie Ave., Portland, OR 97202
If you or someone you know raises chickens and find yourself with too many eggs, please bring them to the St Vincent de Paul Food Bank. We have many families requesting eggs every day.

Why donate fresh produce and eggs to St. Vincent de Paul?
- St Vincent de Paul’s Mobile Kitchen prepares and serves over 160 meals with volunteer help from each of our partner meal sites.
- Every Friday night we serve a meal to over 100 teens. Their #1 request for dinner is fresh salad.
- Over 89 agencies order from our Food Bank the first item they look for is fresh fruits and vegetables
Currently we are not able to keep enough fresh items to meet the demand.
Your help is vital in our MISSION to help people in need.

St. Vincent de Paul Conference President, Len Miller and several other members, were on hand and very excited about the expansion of the Mobile Kitchen to their site in Hillsboro. “This is just so wonderful we can offer this,” Miller said and could not wait to show all the volunteers the inside.
The St. Vincent de Paul Portland Council’s converted school bus painted a brilliant blue and re-christened the Mobile Kitchen has been on the road for over a year offering sit-down restaurant-style meals to anyone who climbs onboard—no questions asked. PORTLAND, OREGON — With a passion to fight childhood hunger, Portland’s best restaurants, wineries, breweries and mixologists will gather for Share Our Strength’s Taste of the Nation, the city’s premier culinary benefit. Taste of the Nation Portland will raise critical funds needed to support Share Our Strength’s efforts to end childhood hunger in Oregon and across the nation. This year’s event will be on April 26th, 2010 at Luxe Autohaus at 6:30pm, with a LUXE and VIP entry time starting at 5:00pm and 5:30pm, respectively.
Oregon is a state known for its abundant production of fruits, vegetables, and dairy products, and yet 1 in 6 kids in Oregon experience food insecurity and do not receive proper nutrition to grow and develop. St. Vincent de Paul has seen demand for emergency food boxes increase 35% over last year. Taste of the Nation works to end childhood hunger in the United States and abroad by ensuring that children and their families have reliable access to nutritious food, and by addressing the deeper causes of these conditions.
One hundred percent of ticket and auction revenue help ensure no kid in America grows up hungry.
