The Food Repack program is part of a citywide network system for collecting over-produced food from grocers, universities, hospitals, restaurants, and major caterers. Over-produced food is rescued, repackaged and frozen. This food is an essential part of many agencies’ food boxes who serve people in need.
If you would like to work in a kitchen environment without cooking and do a vital job for the community, this is the job for you.
The Portland Council center is located 5120 SE Milwaukie Ave., Portland, Oregon (Map). Our Emergency Service Office, Food Bank, and Food Recovery Program are located on this site. We also have off site opportunities for people wishing to volunteer but may have work, family or timing barriers.
Help is needed in the repack room Monday thru Friday, 8am – 11am and 11am – 2pm. Please call Jacque at 503-234-1114
